Indiana has been the Haunting grounds of one of the best Horror Hosts ever...our own beloved Sammy Terry. For years, many of us grew up watching Sammy and his pet spider, George, come into our living rooms on Friday nights and scare the bejeezies out of us. We would listen to his evil laugh while we would pull up our covers over our eyes for safety. If we made it through the movie, our reward would be a slight chill down our spine as he would bid us all "Many pleasant nightmares....". Then it was time to try to sleep. Ahhh...the good ol' days!
Here is the best news, Sammy is still haunting!
These photos were taken at the 2004 Indiana State Fair with channel 4's other legends, Cowboy Bob, Janie, and Harlow Hickenlooper. They signed autographs for a couple of hours and, after a brief downpour, they put on a great show that brought back some memories.
In July of 2007, Sammy came to Indianapolis' first annual Horror Hound Weekend. The event had some big name guests such as Sid Haig, Tom Savini, Chris Jerico, P.J. Soles, Tony Todd. Ken Foree, Hanna Hall, and Bill Moseley. The only guest to get a standing ovation was our beloved Sammy Terry.
